Internship Programme

FES India offers internships to students who want to experience the working environment of a German non-profit foundation and get involved in our activities.

Tasks

  • Preparation and organisation of conferences and visitors programmes
  • Participation in seminars and workshops
  • Researching and writing of background papers, reports and other relevant documents
  • Assistance in daily office work
  • In-depth work on a topic of particular interests

Eligibility Criteria

The duration of the internship should be at least two months. Applicants should have obtained a first university degree (such as Bachelor's) and/or should be in their final semesters of their master studies in either political science, sociology, economics or any related areas of study. Applicants must have a strong interest in the field of international cooperation, sustainable development, labour relations, gender and social justice. Voluntary engagement in social issues is an added advantage.

Applicants must be open-minded, team players and should have reasonable communication skills and self-reliance. Good English and IT skills (Microsoft Office, social media) are a must. Additional German and/or Hindi language skills are welcome.

Previous experience in countries of the Global South and a sound knowledge of India and/or South Asia will be an asset.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited for a Skype interview and will need to hand in an additional essay of two pages. We accept applications from 01 March – 30 April for internships commencing from August/September the same year and from 01 October – 30 November for internships commencing from February/March the following year.
