Building back better : A Post COVID Future Road map for Women Focussed Green Livelihoods !

The present global paradigms have undergone a tremendous disruption due to an unplanned and initially immitigable disruption namely COVID 19. This brings the development practitioners to a point of departure- how do we take up the challenge to try, truly, to negotiate and face the complexities involving the global labour force conjoined with environment, social, gender and tech emergence vis – a – vis “future of work” narratives, head-on? The now clichéd “New Normal” approaches fast and promises to evolve, as all self-organising systems do, to a state of high function status quo. The opportunity to create a globally interconnected, systemically driven platform and discourse to be researched and launched is the need of the hour.

How can women turn emerging technology from a threat to an opportunity for greener growth? How can women leverage green tech and thrive in this digital age and especially in this virtual environment that the COVID 19 pandemic is driving the world towards? Can the two threads of the tech-enablers and the roadmap for an environmentally just future for women be woven together to create a strong narrative through story crafting? Are women ecopreneurs currently equipped to deal with the new and emerging models of work, disruptive technology and levels of engagement that is driving the impetus towards a greener economy?
