Program and Communications Manager

Main Responsibilities and Job Description

Under the overall supervision of the Resident Director, the duties and responsibilities of the incumbent will be:

As Program Manager

  • Organising, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of seminars, workshops, and conferences from an administrative side;
  • Coordinating and handling of hotel and flight bookings when required;
  • Negotiating conference and hotel packages according to FES financial guidelines and conditions when required;
  • Monitoring and follow-up of corresponding accounting documents;
  • Internet research on topics as requested;

As Communications Manager

  • Develop, support and promote communication goals with the FES India team;
  • Handle internal and external communication at FES;
  • Communication with all persons in FES (Germany and country offices) as well as with local and international partners;
  • Manage and maintain FES India website, social media channels and other communication platforms;
  • Create content with edits for social media channels, website and external communication platforms in close cooperation with the team and under supervision of the Resident Director;
  • Other reasonable tasks as assigned.

Candidate Profile

  • Relevant University degree or experience as a communications specialist;
  • Strong presentation and communication skills in English, being able to speak & understand Hindi, and German language skills are an asset;
  • Excellent creative and critical thinking skills;
  • Experience in creating social media content;
  • Experience in web design and content production;
  • Skills in copywriting and editing is a plus;
  • Flexible and adaptable as a team player to FES staff and partners;
  • Able to work independently without daily supervision;
  • Highly organised and possessing acute attention to detail;
  • Willing to assist with other programmes and projects if needed;
  • Proactive participation in office-related discussions and organizational development;
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, along with working knowledge of Canva, Adobe illustrator and indesign;
  • Experience in branding and graphic design would be a plus;
  • Experience with content management systems(CMS) and Search Engine Optimization(SEO) would be desirable;
